Simon Says Dance, also known as SSD, was established back in 2011 by Simon Hunter, starting with just a handful of students each week. Now, we teachover 800 students each weekhere in Edinburgh. In 2011, Simon set out to create a new ‘Commercial’ dance offering in Edinburgh for youngsters. With there being little to no opportunities available for kids in this very much new and emerging style of dance in Edinburgh at that time, Simon decided to launch this fresh concept within the dance industry in Edinburgh.

The kids love it!! Both of primary school age daughter wanted ballet and commercial dance. Loved her first ballet class wants to go twice a week. Forced son to “just once, please?” attend commercial dance and boom.
Ellie started with SSD when she was in primary ..now in S3 and still dancing at SSD. I have seen her grow as a person and her dancing skills increase year on year !!

My daughter has been attending DN Dance for several years and has fun every week. We are impressed both with the high quality of teaching and the friendly atmosphere of the dance school as a whole. There are a range of classes and opportunities to participate in exams and performances.
Loving the new studio! It’s bright and airy, well laid out and in a great location. The little extras such as a separate room for dads to get kids changed in and the coffee van outside are great additions as well. You’ve thought of everything 😍

Nicky and her team are wonderful! My daughter attended both weeks of holiday club and had a great time at both. Matilda was more challenging for her as she wasn’t familiar with the stage show version, however by the end of the week she was confidently singing away to Naughty with her dance moves in tow.

Excellent classes. They know their stuff and are amazing teachers. You get an amazing amount of practice in just one hour sessions.
My partner was set on doing a wedding dance and we came across these guys. We’re both complete amateurs, but they managed to create a wedding dance which we and everyone at the wedding loved. I would highly recommend them, and they’re also great guys too. Thanks!
For all you guys out there being cajoled by partners who love Strictly to try dancing, I would say go for it. Fred and Nuno are brilliant teachers and great guys. I never thought I would love dancing as much as I do and that is in large part down to the fun at classes. Highly recommend you join us at class. Keep dancing…
